This project required me to create three test front covers for the short story, A Hunger Artist by Franz Kafka. There had to be one digital type one, one photo montage one, and one that is hand drawn. All covers relate in some way to the theme of the story. For the final, I chose to go with the hand drawn cover of the Ouroboros. For the digital type one, I wanted the type to fade away like dust using displace and smart filters on Photoshop; it used a bold Helvetica font as the base. The photomontage one used transparent PNG’S arranged to look like a performance in black and white; I used Futura font for the title and author.
